FARMHOUSE FANCY

I met Lacy and Matt about 3 years ago. They are such a fun loving and adventurous couple. Over time Lacy and I started sharing stories about our businesses. As life began to get more hectic, Lacy inquired further about my interior design services. Her home was already beautiful, warm and comfortable with a farmhouse vibe.

This design project was all about the Master Bedroom Suite. Lacy wanted spaces that would flow with the rest of the home. The first thing we decided was to match the gray paint color she had throughout the rest of the house and freshen up the white baseboards and trim work. I met with Lacy to provide a couple of virtual options and we decided on her base color scheme and which items would remain in the room. We decided on gray and white with a minimalist style. We picked out new bedroom furniture that would compliment the new vision for the space. In the bathroom, Lacy wanted a barn door to replace her bi-fold doors. Based on the design of the bathroom a barn door track would not be an option. After a little research, I found a design that my team could use to reconstruct the bi-fold doors.

My paint team went in to create the foundation for designing the rooms. Once the painting was completed, work on the bi-fold doors began. After hours of labor we had beautiful doors that transformed into a seamless look and feel of a barn door.

The furniture was delivered a few weeks later and we scheduled the final interior design appointment. After a few hours of adding new decor, hanging framed pictures and wall art, installing a bay window rod and panels, creating a new bedding scape, flanking the bed and bathroom with new area rugs and adding a new shower curtain our focus was on the final delivery — installing the redesigned feature doors. With a few onsite cuts the doors were ready for install. The bifold doors that once provided angst based on location, look and feel were now a great accent in completing the bathroom design. The master bedroom suite was finally complete and Lacy and Matt have the perfect retreat. We are happy that we could add a final touch to their home, located on a nicely groomed property they deem, “Our little piece of Heaven”. In the words of Matt, this beautiful couple can now officially call this redesign, “Farmhouse Fancy”!

Thank you to my design team who made this all possible.  My devoted husband Darryl and Hilliard's Painting.
