From Dim Den to Bright Zen!

This project was a total transformation for the mind, body and spirit.  It started with a consultation with the family. The first part of the process was understanding how to make the design appeal to three individual personalities. It can be challenging to gain the trust of several clients on one project.  What makes it easy is when everyone aligns and becomes a part of the process, which is what happened with the Goodings. Our objective was to create spaces that offered a serene and peaceful vibe.  Steering the family down a path of gray away from the usual vibrant colors was not the easiest task, but it was nothing a few color swatches couldn’t resolve. Matching the paint to a unique paint job was the first step.  The family understood the assignment and landed on the perfect grays with a subtle transition for an accent wall.  Once the colors were locked down the shopping experience began with a few must haves on the list.  We needed to blend the existing furniture into the overall design and procure an ottoman with storage as a high priority.  Building off the two shades of gray and cornsilk-colored custom pieces was the design focus.  While shopping commenced, we locked down our premiere painter, Tori, of L.A.B. painting.  As always she and her 2 person women’s crew showed up and executed flawlessly.  In 2 days they painted throughout the kitchen, dining nook, family room and stairwell. They blessed the spaces with their expertise from the ceiling to baseboards.  Paint, Trim, and Crown Molding made these spaces feel like they were fit for a royal court - a King, his Queen and Princess!  The design team arrived on Day 2 of painting with one task to complete for design readiness (Day 3).  We removed 2 cabinet doors and cut and replaced the panels with glass, and installed in-cabinet lighting.  On day 3, we arrived bright and early and 3 hours after prep and design we were ready for the client reveal! In the family room, we added new decor and panels, minimal wall art, a family photo gallery wall, pillows to flank the couch and coordinating side chairs, and an ottoman with flair and storage to anchor the entire space.  The paint and new decor scheme offered a new and inviting feel of comfort and relaxation.  In the dining nook, we added a few accessories and staged the kitchen to show off the new paint and wine bar space.  The cabinet became a showcase display of the families glassware and we used the lighting for extra ambiance.  The installed lights offer multiple color selections, so we chose a color that appealed to the Royal court - Purple!  For an extra touch we added a bottle of wine that complimented the lighting color and blended with a charcuterie display.  The new wine bar was equipped with pieces made from different natural woods and marble to create the perfect entertaining space!  The ultimate goal was to create a whole new vibe for the home's primary living spaces.  The family can now sit back relax, enjoy and entertain themselves or family and friends.  We turned this family haven from Dim Den To Bright Zen!

Gooding’s Family - thank you for entrusting Eye 4 ReDesign to turn your house into a home.  We can’t wait to return for your next project!  Special thanks for allowing us share photos and video of your experience.
