Classy Chic Cottage at Cobblestone!

I first met Nancy one year ago at a housewarming for another client. My interaction with her at the event left a lasting impression. She mentioned she was looking for a home and had an interest in contracting my services. I provided a business card, and that is where our story began. A year later, she found a house, and although she felt it was suitable for her needs, she still had not fully envisioned herself in the home. We had an initial conversation, and her bubbly and sassy personality was just what I remembered from our first encounter. We began to vibe immediately. She had one requirement: her comfortable black recliner was essential to the design. She quickly identified her style of choice as a "cottage" feel. After our initial conversation, I gathered some design selections to provide a cream and black color scheme. She asked if I would be adding a pop of color, and I suggested that black is a color, and greenery would be the added flair. Although she said okay, I knew it would take a bit more convincing.

I shared a few items with colors and fabrics that would give her the room's look and feel. We discussed a budget, and the planning began. I provided some furniture choices, and she began to feel at ease. She stated that "I got her," and she was confident that she could trust me to deliver what she was looking for in the design. At this point, she declared that she would sit back, relax, and let the Eye4ReDesign team do the rest. It was off to the races with less than one month to make this project come to life. This project was a designer's dream. It involved multiple shopping trips to find the best deals, redesign, and restyle with lots of love and sweat equity. To get the house ready for design day, I picked a rich color for the walls to make the whole home warm and inviting. I contracted out my favorite paint team, Hilliard's Painting, and they delivered on a short timeline. Each day we touched base, and she told me how the paint color made her fall in love with the house she had purchased more and more every day.

Exactly one month from the day we first spoke, we were ready to execute the design. My team and I arrived promptly at 8 am, prepared to work. Nancy's excitement was through the roof! She went on her way, and we set out to provide her all that she had been seeking and more! She had just a few consults to confirm furniture choices, so she would be seeing the final vision with the paint, decor, and redesigned furniture for the first time. When Nancy arrived for her reveal, a welcome home wreath that I specifically designed for her project greeted her, and once she entered, words are not enough to describe her reaction. In her words, she was awestruck! The new homeowner tried to take it all in and needed a moment to pause and regroup. Nancy began to recognize some of the redesigned items, and she was so happy with the results. Room by room, she began to see all the special touches that had gone into the design. I could feel her love for the spaces. As we walked through the house, she stopped to touch fabrics and textures along the way. She was enamored with how well all the decor blended with the paint and her new carpet. She said it amazed her to see how the cream and black made the house feel so warm. Her favorite "black chair" was the catalyst for the color choices. Along with the chair we created a perfect blend of colors, styles, textures, and finishes to transform this house into a home. She now has her Cottage in Cobblestone!

In this project, we redesigned our bargain finds: dining table, entertainment TV stand, and office credenza. Eye4ReDesign paired these items with new furnishings (sofa, dining chairs, kitchen buffet, office desk and chair) and decor, which allowed these pieces to blend perfectly in their new spaces. Fresh wall paint throughout the whole home to refresh, renew, and create a rich, warm feel, with new cabinet pulls in the kitchen as a special surprise (Thanks to my hubby for making this gift happen)! All of these new features created the perfect design for this Classy Chic Cottage! Congratulations Nancy!
