The Barlow’s Bungalow

We were introduced to the Barlow’s through another Eye 4 ReDesign client and immediately fell in love with their infectious smiles and pleasing personalities. Tammy and Jeff were so welcoming and open to the process. First order of business was to change the yellow color on the walls. Tammy was no longer happy with the color scheme that was giving her nursery vibes, so we decided to carry the gray color through the adjacent spaces to match the updated kitchen for cohesiveness. It took a little convincing, but we knew it would look great against the white trim throughout the space and hallway. We completed the consultation, defined a budget and Eye 4 ReDesign went to work. Painting was first on the agenda so we brought in Tori of L-A-B Painting Services. She is a Paint-artist, which describes her paint style, free-hand painting and trim work - no tape, no drip, no mess, and the project looks like a work of art when she is done. Her paint jobs become the canvas of beautiful creations. Tori began this project promptly at 8am and 8 hours later she was leaving the project with two coats of paint on the walls, trim work and baseboards refinished. The clients were over the moon impressed with her work. These homeowners had a birthday party at their home the next day and everyone loved the new paint color and could not wait for the next phase of the design. The following weekend Eye 4 ReDesign returned and we installed 2 light fixtures and a ceiling fan to bring in the farmhouse chic look into the space. Next we installed the mantle in its new location adding warmth to the living space. We brought in the refinished farmhouse table restored by Hilliard’s Painting and new dining chairs to complete the dining set. As a replacement for the yellow swivel chairs, we brought in indigo blue chairs to compliment the existing sofa, area rug and new decor. These new chairs are not only comfortable and stylish, they are push back recliners, which provide even more versatility for the homeowners to sit back and relax. New furniture placement gave the room a cozy and warm feel! To round out the space we added a farmhouse table/ottoman with a wood base and upholstered top, which is a perfect option for entertaining/serving or additional seating. Next we reinstalled a clock and created the perfect entryway setting with an existing wall table and new decor. Adding decor to the now perfectly balanced areas was the final step. Colors, textures and textiles were staged to present the perfect flow throughout the spaces. Small details defined the new designed spaces to pull together a look and feel the homeowners could enjoy for years to come. It was a wonderful experience using a mix of the existing and new to give this home life-inspired spaces. Tammy and Jeff are amazing clients and we were happy to be a part of their home love-story! As Jeff often stated, “Happy Wife, Happy Life!” Tammy loved everything as shown in her client reaction! 😀 Eye 4 ReDesign nailed it! We added farmhouse chic flow to the Barlow’s Bungalow!
